Whole Farm Ecosystem/Community Neighbors

The concept of the Whole Farm Ecosystem/Community Neighbors is to encourage stewardship of your farming community, shifting your focus beyond the borders of your vineyard to the natural environment and surroundings—in essence, your vineyard community. Managing your vineyard as an agroecosystem requires you to take a "whole systems” approach to farming and to consider the effects of your actions on soil, water, air, plants and animals, and other resources. Today's farmer must be sensitive to his or her farming practices that may impact others in the community.
